In February 2026, a team of Navigators will hit the ground at Otago University campus to pioneer a new season of student ministry. This is the answer to many prayers, planning, wild ideas, lots of searching and asking, visits to learn from existing ministry in Otago, collaboration, and seeking the leading of the Holy Spirit. These are exciting times.
Our Navigators Otago student ministry has a long and rich history of seeing disciples made and labourers raised up. It has been close on thirty years since we had an active presence on this campus. Perhaps you met the Navigators at Otago, and that meeting was life-changing. We are praying that our new ministry will have a similar impact on the lives of Otago students for future generations.
Last year, we laid out the wild idea and huge ask of leading a pioneering team on this campus to our staff couple Zac and Kimmy Wille. They said yes! We began to pray for others to join them so we could send a team. A month ago, we heard our soon-to-be-returning intern Gerdion (who has been on exchange in Canada) has agreed to go with Zac and Kimmy to Otago. Another young person has also indicated their desire to intern on this team.
On a recent trip to Otago, Zac was approached by the Māori Chaplain who said, “I am so glad that the Navigators are coming back to Otago Uni. I came to faith through The Navigators during my time as a student.” We are praying that many more lives like his will be changed as we launch in 2026.
Wow, our wild idea is snowballing in a way that can only be the Holy Spirit’s leading. Would you like to know more and pray with us as we work towards this exciting restart? Zac and Kimmy send out monthly prayer updates. You can read these, and join them in prayer, by clicking this link: Opt-In to Otago Navs 2026 Prayer Team
