Our People – Profile

International People Ministry
Hamilton

I grew up in Taihape, so had many outdoor adventures camping and horse riding. I began my journey with Navigators at Massey University in Palmerston North while studying a Bachelor of Science. Early on in my first year of living in Fergusson Hall I began attending a weekly Bible Study evening with other interested students. Iā€™m so glad I did as this helped me to build a good foundation of Biblical knowledge and practice. It also taught me the importance of spending regular times with God in His Word and how to genuinely share my faith. After graduating I spent one year teaching English in Inner Mongolia where I learnt the importance of being part of the Body of Christ and the challenges you face when living cross-culturally. I returned to Massey University to study Development Studies and Mandarin. During this year I met and later married my husband Keith. We now have four children who are a blessing to us in many ways.

For the past 20 years I have been teaching English as a Second Language in Hamilton. During this time, I had opportunities to share my faith with students who were interested in Christianity. In 2021 I began to work for Navigators with a ministry focussed on befriending and sharing Jesus with International students and people. The aim is bringing people to know Christ through fostering genuine friendship, then helping them to grow in their faith through regular Bible Study, prayer, and friendship. I am thankful for the encouragement and help of Keith, Christian friends and supporters who are enabling me to labour in the harvest field.
