Our People – Profile

I grew up in a multi-cultural nation where Islam was the official religion. I was a lukewarm Taoist/Buddhist follower until I turned 18 and my friends introduced me to Jesus and His church. Since then, I have always understood the power of friendship and relationship when it comes to influencing people to fall in love with Jesus. When I went to University, I studied Law because that was considered a “desirable” degree. I was blessed that I got to do this in the UK and during that time, my faith continued to grow as I met other believers and experienced different church environments. After I completed my Law degree, we migrated as a family to New Zealand. While in New Zealand, I enrolled in The University of Auckland while working part time and discovered Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship. Later, when I graduated, I was mentored by missionaries from Student Life. Being a part of these ministries taught me the importance of reaching everyone with the Gospel. This then propelled me to join a local church that prioritized reaching international students with the love of Jesus. It was in this church that I met my wonderful husband and we both moved to the US when he was offered a job there. After 11 years, we moved back to Auckland, this time with two kids in tow. I am extremely excited to be a part of what God is doing through the Navigators of New Zealand.
